TALL POPPIES RECORDS New and classical music by Australian composers and performers

Elizabeth Campbell

Elizabeth Campbell is an Australian mezzo-soprano and a tireless promoter of Australian art song. Her distinctive voice and clear diction have made her one of the country’s favourite interpreters of the repertoire.

In the 1980s she presented a series of recitals devoted to Australian art song under the title From Nathan To Now. Two decades later she recorded settings of Judith Wright’s poetry on Woman’s Song (TP179), including Margaret Sutherland’s Six Australian Songs and the cantata The World and the Child, alongside other Australian song settings. She also sings The World and the Child on the Tall Poppies survey Margaret Sutherland: The Chamber Music with Strings (TP116).
