Fabian Hevia
Fabian Hevia’s drums and percussion give Australian jazz a Latin pulse and a firm rhythmic centre. He works in settings that mix jazz improvisation with Latin and Indian colour, keeping the groove clear and alive.
He has played with The Catholics and with singer Vince Jones, moving between ensemble jazz and more intimate vocal settings. Beside guitar-led writing he adds texture and drive without crowding the line, whether the material is original or drawn from Brazilian repertoire.
