Jonathon Dimond
Jonathon Dimond is an electric bassist and composer whose writing and playing draw on jazz, European classical music and intercultural traditions from North and South India, Bali, Brazil and Cuba.
He is a member of the Melbourne trio Tripataka, formed in 2013 to perform original music by the band.
On their debut Yakiya (TP242) he is featured on electric bass and contributes the compositions Paco, Mod Times, A Kayak and Partition, set in a tough, polymetric ensemble sound that folds composition and improvisation together.
