TALL POPPIES RECORDS New and classical music by Australian composers and performers

Kevin Hunt

Kevin Hunt plays and writes jazz piano that sits with classical repertoire as readily as with original song. His own pieces favour a lyrical line, while his trio work has taken Bach into the jazz room.

He has led ensembles that place Bach, Debussy, Ravel and Bernstein beside his own writing, including the JS Bach Trio with Laurie Thompson and Gary Holgate. On record he also appears as a keyboardist and composer in sessions that mix jazz with Latin and other colours, contributing the original Love Song to that blend.

Guy Strazzullo is one of the rising stars in the Australian jazz firmament. His guitar playing is awesome – strong and vital, equally at home with the classical repertoire as the improvised.
