Simon Barker
Simon Barker is an Australian jazz drummer and composer whose distinctive, responsive playing anchors exploratory ensemble work and original Australian jazz.
On Tall Poppies he appears with GEST8 on Kaleidoscope (TP195), as drummer and as co-composer on a free collective track. Reviews single out his drumming in the band’s engine room, across Asian, electronic and contemporary jazz textures on that debut.
