The Contemporary Singers
The Contemporary Singers are an Australian chamber choir based in Sydney, formed in the mid-1980s and dedicated to choral music of the twentieth century.
Varying between about a dozen and thirty voices, the choir built a wide contemporary repertoire and gave Australian premiere performances of many significant chamber-choir works.
On Tall Poppies they appear in There Came a Wind like a Bugle (TP142), singing the early choral cycle The True Samaritan. That recording later won the APRA Award for Best Vocal or Choral Work of the Year.
