TALL POPPIES RECORDS New and classical music by Australian composers and performers

Christine Douglas

Christine Douglas is the soprano soloist on Nigel Westlake’s score for the IMAX film Antarctica, where wordless voice adds a poetic line to music that shifts between ice-bound force and tender lyricism.

An Australian soprano, she is heard on the Tall Poppies recording of the full film score beside cello, violin and guitar soloists, in cues that range from threnody and wooden ships to penguin scherzos and a finale looking toward Antarctica as a world park. Beyond the studio she has sung major roles for Opera Australia and later turned to directing, including work with Pacific Opera.
