Australian Soundscapes: Mutawinji
Field recordings by David Lumsdaine capture one of the most extraordinary bird songs on disc: pied butcherbirds at Spirey Creek in the Warrumbungles, with further bush soundscapes from the sacred site of Mutawinji in far western New South Wales.
Lumsdaine made these Australian bush soundscapes on location. The long opening track is devoted to pied butcherbirds at Spirey Creek in the Warrumbungles.
The remaining tracks were recorded at Mutawinji in far western New South Wales, following dawn light, wind on the ridges, and a grey shrikethrush colloquy.
