Lisa Moore
Lisa Moore brings colour, stamina and sharp rhythmic sense to piano music that runs from Janáček’s brooding paths to the percussive glitter of new Australian scores and the charged partnership of Russian and American cello sonatas.
On disc she is both chamber partner and solo advocate. With cellist David Pereira the rapport is electric: Shostakovich crackles, Schnittke’s stark Largo sinks into despair and resignation, and the same shared vision carries Prokofiev and Carter. Alone she takes Michael Smetanin’s Stroke in a single take, driving, glittering and unflinching, then sets it beside quieter Australian pages by Edwards, Kats-Chernin, Sculthorpe and others. Her Janáček refuses blandness; awkward writing holds no fear, pedalling and dynamics stay exact, and the music keeps its life and blood from the Sonata through In the Mist to On an Overgrown Path. She has pressed Elena Kats-Chernin’s rags, blues and the Sonata Lost and Found written for her into clear, stylish focus, and she colours chamber programmes by Westlake, Ford and Berg with the same alert touch.

Janáček: Piano Music
Lisa Moore breathes fresh life into these Czech piano masterpieces. Less familiar on the concert platform than his operas, Janáček's keyboard writing ranges from darkly brooding to cheerful dancing, with all the drama of one of the twentieth century's most-loved opera composers.

Stroke
A striking programme of contemporary Australian piano music, superbly played by New York–based Australian pianist Lisa Moore. Smetanin's formidable title work, among the most demanding in the repertoire, was captured here in a single take.

Prokofiev & Carter: Cello Sonatas
David Pereira and Lisa Moore, winners of the ABC Australian Record of the Year for The Wild Russians (TP017), bring the same shared vision, ensemble polish and passion to two cornerstones of the cello and piano repertoire.

Shostakovich & Schnittke: The Wild Russians
This CD won the inaugural ABC award for Best Australian Recording in 1993. It is a vibrant, fresh account of two major works by the Russian masters Shostakovich and Schnittke.
